On Vacation

I’m having the time of my life on vacation, even though I was seasick all yesterday. I walked a mile and a half on the track this morning and I’m getting in all the fruits and veggies I can stand. I thought this was going to be hard. Time to go, got to get dressed for the captains dinner. Wish you all were here.

Survived Thanksgiving

Wow, what a journey, this time last year the only thing I was worried about was making sure there was enough ham, cake and potato salad for everyone. This year all I wanted was to make sure there was enough lean turkey breast left for me when I finally sat down and that noone ate my baked sweet potatoes because the pie was for them. I did manage to get my exercise in because on black Friday I walked 1 mall and 3 department stores as well as feeling as if I had bench pressed a couple of flatscreens.

It’s funny how time flies when you’re having fun.I’ve met some awesome people and learned things I’ll carry with me always. If anyone had told me a year ago that I would be eating my meals from a smaller plate I would have laughed at them or that I would be reading labels, I would have said, “Yeah right”. I stop and think to myself that time is running out and I haven’t loss all the weight I wanted to, then I realise that this doesn’t stop because the challange is ending. It just won’t be the same without my challange buddies, I’m going to miss you guys.

Another One Bits The Dust

At the start of the challenge I promised myself that I wouldn’t go shopping until the very end, well I’m almost there and decided why not. My 10th wedding anniversary is in December and my husband and I are treating ourselves to a seven day cruise, so of course I needed a few new cocktail dresses , shoes and the such. While trying on dresses I notice the most amazing thing, the darn things are TOO BIG. I was upset at first because the dresses were too big, then it dawned on me, wakeup dummy you just loss another dress size. Girl you cant tell me I’m not on the other side of fine, as another one bites the dust.

This month’s workout at the Forum was a boxing class. OMG I didn’t know I was so uncoordinated! I also couldn’t remember to keep my hands up or the difference between a jab and any other move LOL. But this was probably the most fun I’ve had out of all the workouts.

Sorry about the tardiness of posting . My last post Missed the Forum was entered on 9/15/09 but got stuck in draft mode somehow, should have asked a kid what to do. LOL. I’m feeling a lot better, the flu is technically over , but I’m still not able to exercise due to constant muscle spasms. Since I can’t focus on exercise I’ve really learned a lot about calorie counting and portion control, I’ll have this down to a science in no time.

At the beginning of the challenge I listed my weight as 196lbs, that was incorrect , at the first weigh in I weighed 201lbs, so I was off 5lbs. As of today my scale says 185lbs, a 16lb loss. I’m pleased.

Missed the Forum

This month is the first time I missed my session at the forum. It was for a good cause, I was having flu like symptoms and didn’t think I needed to share with the rest of the group. I do have the flu but I’m starting to feel better, but it may be a few until I regroup and get back into exercise mode. I’m just staying hydrated and watching what I eat.

I’m doing great, I’m headed in the right direction, I’ve just got one tiny little problem. Football Season. My husband and I are football fanatics, diehard Falcon fans, season ticket holders. Do you see my problem? Have you ever seen anything at the Dome under 3 million calories? Imagine the exercise I’ll have to do the next day to get rid of Nachos and beer. Whenever you see a Falcons game please pray my strength in the Lord. LOL. GO FALCONS!!!!

Switch up at the Forum

This pass Saturday at the Forum was interesting, instead of the fast twitch class, we were introduced to yoga. I started off thinking cool, this won’t be so bad, little did I know. When the boby isn’t used to stretching it’s hard to get into some of those positions. All during the session I kept thinking this is impossible, and everyday since I’ve incorporated some of the moves into my warm-up before walking. Horray for yoga!

Forging Ahead

For those of you that didn’t know, I joined a bootcamp last week, and I thought I was going to die. But, as luck would have it, I’m still breathing, and I can walk 3 miles without breathing hard(yeah right). The numbness is still occurring but I’ve decided to ignore it and continue on with life. It’s amazing that it’s taken me two whole months to get to this point, but better late than never.
